New research conducted by Welch’s Global Group and Surveygoo earlier in the year indicates that most American millennials between the ages of 18 and 35 choose to eat a healthy snack in place of a standard meal at least once a week. Some interesting findings from the study show:

  • 9 out of 10 millennials surveyed said they swapped breakfast for a healthy snack at least once a week.
  • More than half said they were too busy to sit down to a meal or can’t be bothered cooking.
  • Half snack at work and a third in the car.
  • Millennials tend to go for whole grains (45%), fruit (42%) or nuts (39%).
  • IRI research cites that two thirds of Australians use nutritional information when deciding on whether or not to purchase a snack.
